Vernon Nelson Smith, 73, of De Soto died May 20, 2021, at his home. Mr. Smith was a truck driver for Cardinal Health and was a member of Life Christian Church. He enjoyed classic cars, doing yard work, volunteering and being part of the De Soto Community. Born Nov. 9, 1947, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Meese) Ball.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Kathy Jane (Ingram) Smith of De Soto; a daughter: Lisa Pashia of De Soto; a brother: Arthur Smith of San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister: Saunie Serl of Elgin, Texas; three granddaughters: Molly, Zoee and Amber; a great-granddaughter: Elena Smith; a great-grandson: Xander Sparks; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Lantz Smith.
