Verna Talley Chunn, 81, of Catawissa died Oct. 4, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Washington in Washington, Mo. Mrs. Chunn loved gardening, flowers and cooking. She was born April 6, 1934, in Blytheville, Ark., the daughter of the late Grace and Vernon Morton. She was preceded in death by her husband: U.V. Talley.
She is survived by seven children: Peggy (Wes) Rider of Liberal, Jim (Brenda) Talley of Burger, Dan (Debbie) Talley of Lonedell, Susie (Joe) Ritter of Catawissa, Betty Banks of St. Clair, Nancy Talley of High Ridge and Mary Bowlin of Fenton; two siblings: Ann Chunn of West Memphis, Ark., and Ronnie Bell of High Ridge; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
