Toby Gene Schneider, 72, of De Soto died March 31, 2016, at his home. Mr. Schneider was a truck driver for Yellow Freight and a member of Victory Church in Pevely. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of American Legion Post 253 and VFW Post 3777 and loved hunting, fishing and boating. Born June 24, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Charles and Vivian (Howell) Schneider.
He is survived by his wife: Sharron (Dudley) Schneider of De Soto; three sons: Cary (Sherri) Schneider of Imperial, Damon (Jessica) Schneider of Hillsboro and Keith Vance; a daughter: Delaina (James) Melton of Kansas; 11 grandchildren: Joshua, Brittany, Brianna, Erica, Zachary, Hanna, Halle, Casey, Paige, Raven and Keith Jr.; and four great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Ariannah, Adelyn and Avery.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Joan (the late Jerry) Bass.
Visitation is scheduled at 4 p.m. and a funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Shirley Winford. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
