Thomas “Tom” Brown Jr., 89, of De Soto died Nov. 13, 2018, at his home. Mr. Brown was the owner of Brown Auto Parts in De Soto. He was an U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a volunteer for the Missouri Veteran Outlet and the food pantry at Emmanuel Baptist Church in De Soto, where he was a member. He also attended One80 Ministries. He was a giving mentor and friend, and he enjoyed visiting with nursing home residents and singing to them. Born Jan. 10, 1929, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late T. T. and Sylvia (Womack) Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Sarah Brown of De Soto; two daughters: Deborah (Richard) Patterson of St. Louis and Diana (Tom Holloway) Eiff of Imperial; two sons: Tommy (Cathy) Brown of De Soto and Anthony (Melissa) Brown of De Soto; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son: Timothy Brown; and one sister: Christine Burt.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 13270 Hwy. CC, in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Food Pantry or One80 Ministries. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
