Cheatham, Thomas

Thomas Stephen Cheatham, 69, of De Soto died May 4, 2016, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Cheatham was retired from quality control for Lincoln Engineering in St. Louis and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed watching drag racing and John Wayne western movies. Born Aug. 11, 1946, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lettie (Evans) Cheatham.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Missey) Cheatham of De Soto; a son: Tim (Dawn) Griffin of Herculaneum; two daughters: Carrie (Don) Brod of Hillsboro and Pennie (Craig) Strother of Festus; three sisters: Janie (Ken) Prier of Cassville, Susan (Ray) Savage of Burns, Kan., and Mary (Rocky) Goodson of Potosi; five grandchildren: Danielle (Jordan) Hawn, Jordan Eggemeyer, Trevor Eggemeyer, Jesse Proffitt and Logan Griffin; and two great-grandchildren: Landon and Hailee. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne Breakfield and Freddie Breakfield.

A funeral service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the de Greeff Hospice House, St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation, 10010 Kennerly, St. Louis, 63128. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
