Thomas Robert “Tom” Cullen, 79, of De Soto died Oct. 2, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Cullen worked as a corrections officer for the Missouri Correctional System. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, cooking, fishing, traveling and spending time with family. Born July 14, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Ermine J. and Mabel A. Cullen.
He is survived by dear friends: Jeri LeVall of De Soto and Debbie Pigg; two daughters: Mary Ann (Daniel) Commes of St. Louis and Chris (Ben) Frost of Denver, Colo.; a son: Clayton Cullen of Illinois; a brother: Ed (Jean) Cullen of Austin, Texas: five grandchildren: Maeve, Madeline, Devon, Preston and Lindsay; five great-grandchildren: Jessie, Jaliey, Melodey, Jeremy and Zoey; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by his sister: Delores Schweisfurth.
A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday Oct. 6, at Mahn Funeral Home De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Rose of Lima, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, with Father Alex Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Columbia Ann's: 13225 Hwy. E, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
