Thomas John Stengel, 68, of De Soto died June 11, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Stengel was a retired ready-mix concrete truck driver and a member of Teamsters Union Local 682. Born April 14, 1950, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Walla) Stengel.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Carol (Byers) Stengel; a son: Jarod (Melissa) Stengel of De Soto; two grandchildren: Madelyn and Thomas Stengel; a sister: Linda (David) Wilson; a niece: Jamie (Dave) Mesey; and three nephews: Jeremiah (Keri) Wilson, David (Iku) Wilson and Jeff (Gay) Miller and their son, Dalton; his father-in-law: Don (the late Ruby) Byers; a sister-in-law: Nancy (Doug) Bowles; and four nieces- and nephews-in-law: Casey (Cord) Blumstock, Jeremy Bowles, Samantha Neely and Aaron Bowles.
Funeral services and burial were private. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were under the direction of Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
