Terry W. “Twink” Owen, 75, of De Soto died Feb. 2, 2022, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mr. Owen was a counselor at Senn Thomas Middle School in Herculaneum and a U.S. Army veteran. He loved the simple things in life, such as cruising backroads enjoying his music, trips out West, sitting in his recliner with pets on his lap and being the first one to care for the newborn baby goats. If he wasn’t in the gym, he could be found fishing and enjoying the outdoors or watching a wide variety of sporting events, either live or on TV. Born Oct. 21, 1946, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Faye Adele (Mayfield) and Dr. Charles Owen
He is survived by his wife: Joella R. (Luna) Owen of De Soto; five children: Michael (Jodi) Owen of De Soto, Amy (Rob) Greif of Farmington, Suzanne (Justin) Glaze of De Soto, Kelly Jo (Andy) Fischer of De Soto and Scott (Teresa) Vogtman of Dixon; two siblings: Robert (Tina) Owen of De Soto and Donna (Tom) Patterson of Monett; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
