Terry L. Long, 80, of De Soto died Jan. 19, 2022, at his home. Mr. Long was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a ceremonial guard in Washington D.C. before serving onboard the U.S.S. Intrepid aircraft carrier. After his military service, he worked in construction and owned and operated Long Installation. He enjoyed collecting coins and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Born April 4, 1941, in Bloomsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter and Sarah (Raup) Long.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Kathleen “Kay” (Durney) Long of De Soto; a daughter: Holly (Michael) Long-Saxton of Sunbury, Pa.; two sons: Terry L. Long Jr. and David Long, both of St. Louis; two half brothers: Oscar Long and Edward Blunk; two half sisters: Cathy Wesloskie and Sandra Klein; and many other family members and friends.
Services were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
