Teresa Winckel, 82, of De Soto died May 25, 2018, at Baisch Nursing Facility in De Soto. Mrs. Winckel was a banker with U.S. Bank and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. She was a member of the Joachim Social Club, Columbia Anns, a pinochle card club and the Eagles. Born Sept. 17, 1935, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Olive (Hurst) and Raymond Bayer.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, August C. “Gus” Winckel, whom she married May 7, 1955, in St. Louis; two children: Gary (Carolyn Fox) Winckel of Valdosta, Ga., and Jeff Winckel of De Soto; a sister: Mary Schlemeier of Ballwin; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Tina Tissot, who died April 30; and a sister: Doris Mason.
A joint memorial service for Mrs. Winckel and her daughter is scheduled for June 9 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed immediately by the service, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
