Tammy Lynn Copeland, 52, formerly of Festus, died Nov. 18 at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia. She was a waitress at Isle of Capri casino in Boonville. She also was a U.S. Army veteran. Her biggest passion was helping residents at Pony Bird, where she formerly worked. She also enjoyed crafts, collecting dragons, fishing, reading, puzzles, bingo, movies and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Born March 3, 1965, in St. Joseph, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Eugenia L. and Melvin R. Copeland Sr.
She is survived by her longtime partner: Christopher Scott Guthrie of Bonne Terre; a son: Joshua Belmar of Portland, Ore.; two daughters: Jamie (Torrey) Guerra of Columbia and Sonja (Kaitlynn) Guthrie of Boonville; three brothers: Steven M. (Becky) Copeland of Festus, Melvin R. (Brenda) Copeland of Hallsville and Matthew R. (Tammy) Copeland of Festus; two granddaughters: Kira Nichols and Gabriella Guerra, both of Columbia; two grandsons: Taryn Nichols and Hunter Guerra, both of Columbia; eight nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services were planned. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of H.T. May & Son Funeral Home in Boonville.
