Sylvia Mae DePriest, 84, of Festus died Feb. 23, 2019, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Arnold. Mrs. DePriest had worked for many years with the Bussmann Fuse Company until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Rose of Sharon Full Gospel Temple in De Soto, and enjoyed crocheting and working outdoors, particularly in her garden. Born Jan. 8, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Edna E. (Coulter) Norman. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth DePriest.
She is survived by two sisters: Opal Austin of Qulin and Lonabee Worley of Arnold; two grandchildren: Jason Crakel and Denetta Gau; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Myers; and a sister: Imogene Cash.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Carl McKalip and the Rev. Keith Gorda. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to Calvary Bible Way Tabernacle, 759 Lonedell Road, Arnold, 63010. Arrangements are under direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
