Robinson, Stokes

Stokes V. Robinson, 90, of Dittmer died June 8, 2022, in St. Louis. Mr. Robinson was a teacher in the Northwest R-1 School District for 29 years and an active member of St. Martin’s United Church of Christ in Dittmer. He was a volunteer for the Cedar Hill Fire Department in its early years and was a member of the House Springs Lions Club. After retirement, he enjoyed  delivering Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years. Born June 29, 1931, in Tippah County, Miss., he was the son of the late Reece and Zelma (Michael) Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Marjorie “Marge” Robinson; two daughters: Greta (David) Bloecher and Krista (Steve) James; seven grandchildren: Amanda (Rob) Hall, Steven (Katie) James, Ashley (Gerald) Forde, Cody (Tashia) Bloecher, Justin James, Ethan Harris and Dean Bloecher; seven great-grandchildren: Wilder, Madelyn, Abbigale, Chase, Axel, Talia and Bruce; one sibling: Nell Crawford; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a son: Timothy Robinson; a son-in-law: Mark Milne; a sister: Adron (John) King; three brothers: James (Shirley) Robinson, Willard Robinson and Roy Robinson; and a brother-in-law: Leslie Crawford.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Martin’s United Church of Christ, 7890 Dittmer Ridge Road, in Dittmer. Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
