Stanley F. “Dink” Dugan, 95, of De Soto died May 23, 2017, at Community Manor in Farmington. Mr. Dugan was a mill supervisor for the Union Pacific Railroad. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member and Deacon Emeritus of First Baptist Church in De Soto. He was a member of De Soto 119 AF & AM; UEL Chapter 129 in Farmington; Alhambra Grotto in Webster Groves; Bonne Terre Council 43; De Soto Commandery 56 of the Knights Templar; and O.E.S. Chapters 71 and 15. He was a board member of the De Soto Railroad Employees Memorial and a member of the Jefferson County Squares.. Born Dec. 30, 1921, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Sylvas Lee and Eunice (Reppy) Dugan. He was preceded in death by his wife: Audrey L. (Hensley) Dugan.
He is survived by two children: Sandra (Ronald) Stewart of De Soto and Fran Hayes of De Soto; five grandchildren: Rebecca (Dan) Hoffee, Rhonda (Anthony) Lawson, Donald (Shawna) Stewart, Bryan (Andrew) Stewart and Timothy (Megan) Hayes; and eight great-grandchildren: Anderson and Natalie Hoffee; Samuel Lawson; Ashley, Alesha and Alexis Hayes; and Lonnie and Tyler Douglas.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Myrtle “Dixie” (LTC William E.) Jones, Bo Dugan, Gilbert (Mildred) Dugan and George Dugan.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at the funeral home, the Rev. Jeremy Muniz officiating. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
