Sister Elaine M. Kraft, 83, Liguori

Sister Elaine M. Kraft, 83, of Liguori died May 15, 2021. She was a Redemptoristine nun and taught in schools in Detroit, Mich., before entering the monastery in Liguori. She professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1983. One of her duties at the monastery was answering the phone when people called with prayer requests. She will be remembered for her compassion, quick wit and funny jokes. She spent her later years at St. Andrew’s at Francis Place in Eureka. She was born in Detroit.

She is survived by a nephew: Brian of Atlanta, Ga., and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services at the Redemptoristine Chapel will be provided by the Redemptorist priests at St. Clement’s in Liguori. Burial will be in the Redemptoristine Cemetery in Liguori. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
