Shirley Jean Murray, 85, of Festus died July 27, 2021, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Murray was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary, where she helped with many activities. Born Jan. 9, 1936, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Delia (Bittick) Perryman.
She is survived by her husband: Ralston “Alabama” Murray; two daughters: Jane (Kenny) Aubuchon of Festus and Janet (David) Cannon of Pevely; three sons: Steve Murray of Festus, Ralph (Angie) Murray of Frankclay and Randy Murray of Festus; a brother: Ronald (the late Dorothy “Dot”) Perryman of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Joe) Goodman, Monica (Tim O’Brien) Aubuchon, Alicia Aubuchon, Amber Cannon, James Cannon, Rob (Jennifer) Cannon, Misty Hendricks and Delilah Murray; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Delores (David) Engel; and a brother: Phillip Perryman Jr.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 1) at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday (Aug. 2) at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Randy Casey. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
