Shirley Jean Manning, 81, of Festus died July 26, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Manning was a retired hospital controller for the Martin Luther King Hospital Group in Los Angeles. Born July 18, 1937, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Thelma (Vineyard) and Eugene Thomas McCreary.
She is survived by a daughter: Amy Boyer of Festus; two sons: Mark (Mary Kay) Boyer of Ashburn, Va., and Kerry (Grace Ann) Boyer of Redondo, Calif.; a brother: Eddie (Willie) Kleinschmidt of Festus; two sisters: Sandy (Ron) Meyer of Festus and Nancy (Mike) Walsh of Juneau, Alaska; six grandchildren: Erin Jean, William J., Thomas E., Mark C., Dylan and Abigail Boyer; and six great-grandchildren: Cynthia, William D., Ayden and Thomas Boyer and Grace A. and Vivienne Shirley.
She was preceded in death by a son: Dan Matthew Boyer; a sister: Judy (the late Gary) LaPlant; and a grandson: Danny Boyer.
Services were private. Memorials may be made to Mercy Jefferson Hospice or Goode Life Pet Rescue, 74 Francois Dr., in Herculaneum. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
