Shirley Gunnett, 69, of Park Hills, formerly of De Soto, died Nov. 15, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Gunnett was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Valle Mines. She enjoyed bingo, word puzzles and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Born May 30, 1948, in Cuba, Mo., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Shaw) Pennock. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Gunnett Sr.
She is survived by a son: Walter (Dawn) Gunnett Jr., of Park Hills; five daughters: Laura Gunnett of De Soto, Carrie (Robert) Hines of De Soto, Dianne (Delroy) Bechtod of St. Cloud, Minn., Rachel Darnell of Imperial and Wendy Allen of De Soto; three brothers: Kenneth (Cathy) Pennock, Jerry (Lourena) Pennock and Mike (Ava) Pennock, all of De Soto; two sisters: Doris (Eugene) Payne of Tipton and Alice (Ed) Smith of De Soto and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Austin Darnell.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Keith King. Burial is in the Mount Olive Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
