Shirley Ann (Blow) Missey, 83, of Hillsboro died Aug. 1, 2020, in St. Louis. Mrs. Missey was a retired registered nurse and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having attained the rank of Captain. She was a 50-plus-year member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro; a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6401 Ladies Auxiliary; and a member and past president of the ladies auxiliary of IBEW Local 1. She was born Nov. 22, 1936, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Oliver Blow and Vivian (the late Arthur) Conklin Blow Goebel.
She is survived by her husband: Dale J. Missey of Hillsboro; three sons: Joseph C. (Jamie) Missey of Brentwood, John D. (Jennifer) Missey of St. Louis and Jarett B. (Kerry) Missey of Old Monroe; a daughter: Jill S. Missey of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren: Jenna, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Addison, Luke, Paige and Adley; and a sister: Yvonne “Bonnie” Corello of St. Charles.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, in the funeral home chapel. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro. (Face masks are requested to enter both the funeral home and the church.) Burial is in the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 6401 or to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third Street, Hillsboro, 63050.
