Shelton, Shelby

Shelby Jean Shelton, 80, of Festus died April 24, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Shelton, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City, worked as a Manager RCFI for Striler’s Care Center until her retirement. She enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slots and loved her pets, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was born Oct. 14, 1939, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late John and Theresa Cox Knobloch. She was preceded in death by her husband: James “Bear” Shelton Jr.

She is survived by three sons: Philip Meyer of Farmington, Timothy (Michelle) Meyer of Festus and Stanley “Dennis” (Lisa) Meyer of Festus; two brothers: John (Kathy) Knobloch of Pevely and Stanley Knobloch of Festus; two sisters: Kim (David) Taylor of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Pam Knobloch of Festus; nine grandchildren: Nicole, Kelly, Kory, Keifer, Dana, Trevor, Shawn, Shane and Cameron; four great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Maverick, Fhaye and Kalvyn; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Darlene Knobloch; and a niece: Kasie Christine Taylor.

Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the family through the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
