Sharon Ruth Williams, 89, Crystal City

Sharon Ruth Williams, 89, of Crystal City died Dec. 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Williams was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Festus. She was an expert with a sewing machine and knitting needles, and she enjoyed making crafts. She also liked playing games, especially Scrabble, as well as reading and solving puzzles. She will be remembered for her jokes and laugh. Born March 3, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Almyra Josephine (Denham) and Robert Henry Moeser.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter George Williams Sr.

She is survived by two children: Walter (Vicki) Williams of Webster Groves and Barbara Jo Williams of Crystal City; three grandchildren: Anna (Ben) Picardi, Stephanie (Aaron) Trask and Nate (Ashley) Williams; six great-grandchildren: Brody, Lily, Parker, Molly, Audrey and Mila; two brothers: Lee (Veeda) Womack of Festus and Bill (Pat) Womack of Forest Lake, Minn.; and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert D. Moeser, John C. Moeser, and Gerald R. Moeser.

Visitation will be from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Kyle Castens. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Quilters, 221 Brierton Lane, Festus, 63028, or the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
