Shannon Marie Propst, 73, of Festus died Dec. 5, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Ms. Propst was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and had worked at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. She was born Aug. 9, 1947, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Catherine (Charleville) and William Schumer.
She is survived by three daughters: Lisa (Tilden) Watson of Festus, Yvonne (Dave) Corley of Ellisville and Amy Roeper of Kirksville; a sister: Terry (Leonard) Chapman of Farmington; two brothers: Dennis Schumer of Festus and Mark (Karen) Schumer of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law: Julia Schumer of Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Brendan (Melissa) Corley, Matthew Roeper, Collin Corley and Brianna Roeper; and two great-grandchildren: Jack Corley and Eli Corley.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Schumer.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Father Daniel Shaughnessy. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness organization. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
