Scott P. Akins, 51, of De Soto died Jan. 3, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Akins was a parts manager at Festus Ford and Sunset Auto Plaza. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in De Soto. Born Nov. 15, 1965, in St. Louis, he was the son of Ernest L. Akins of De Soto and the late Sharon Ann (DeClue) Akins.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two siblings: Steve (Jina) Akins of De Soto and Rhonda (Dennis) Schroeter of Hillsboro; two nephews: Justin Akins and Todd Schroeter; and a niece: Tarah (Michael) Gill.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4423 Hwy. 110, in De Soto, officiated by Travis Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
