Sally I. Owen, 88, of Potosi died Aug. 19, 2020. Mrs. Owen was a member of Potosi United Methodist Church. She loved her late dog, Katy Girl, as well as camping, fishing, baking pies, the St. Louis Cardinals and playing rummy card games and Scrabble. Born June 22, 1932, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Irma (Grounds) and Clifford W. Detjen.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Len B. Owen.
She is survived by six children: Jeffrey (Sherry) Owen, Linda Fischer, Kathleen Emberton, Wendy (David) Schiller, James Owen and Kimberly Meder; nine grandchildren: Dawn, Maureen, Mario, Cory, Kyle, Deanna, David, Daniel and Jesse; and eight great-grandchildren: Zachary, Vanessa, Danielle, Lexx, Jacob, Brayden, Aleigha and Dexter.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers: Don W. and Neil C. Detjen; a sister: Nancy J. Torr; a sister-in-law: Mary Sue Pensel; and a brother-in-law: Donald Torr.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to CdLS Foundation or to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
