Ruth Marie BeSand, 81, of St. Louis County, formerly of Hillsboro, died June 15, 2019, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. BeSand was an accountant and bookkeeper for the former Neal Chevrolet in Crystal City and for Jefferson County Collector Beth Mahn. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. Born May 14, 1938, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Marie (Webb) and Earl Bay. She was preceded in death by her husband: David BeSand.
She is survived by a daughter: Pamela (Allen) Neal of Hillsboro; two grandchildren: Kim (Michelle) Neal and Jason (Ly) Neal; four brothers: Bill Bay of Stockton, Doug (Stephanie) Bay of St. Louis, Rich (Nancy) Bay of De Soto and Ken (the late Rhonda) Bay of De Soto; a sister-in-law: Denise Bay of De Soto; and family members Heath BeSand of Hillsboro and Laura (Randy) Cole of Hillsboro and their families.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Bay.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter, the Hillsboro Food Pantry or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
