Russell P. “Russ” Ott, 67, of De Soto died May 1, 2021, in De Soto. Mr. Ott was a butcher for Ott’s Grocery Store and was retired from Sheet Metal Contractors Inc. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #36. Born July 6, 1953, in Arnold, he was the son of the late Michael and Cecelia (Vonderhaar) Ott.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda (Wilson) Ott of De Soto; three children: Matthew (Krista) Ott of Festus, Joe (Kristie) Ott of De Soto and Josh (Athina) Ott of De Soto; eight siblings: Arlene (the late Leonard) Hoeffner of Imperial, Mary Ann (Doyle) Poncet of De Soto, Sandy (Mike) Murphy of Crystal City, Chester (Nancy) Ott of Farmington, Norvel (Donna) Ott of De Soto, Lloyd (Gail) Ott of De Soto, Howard (Linda) Ott of De Soto and Wayne (Julie) Ott of De Soto; and three grandchildren: Colby, Cecelia and Adrianna.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1972 Innerbelt Business Center, St. Louis, 63114. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
