Roy Baumgarth, 75, of Cedar Hill died Nov. 16, 2021, at his home. Mr. Baumgarth was part owner of Bill Williams construction, where he worked until his retirement in 2017. He was always busy, from working with cows to handywork, and enjoyed his baby blue ’65 Chevelle and riding his motorcycle with his wife. He’d go out of his way to help children and loved spending time with his family at the lake. Born Feb. 26, 1946, in Washington, Mo., he was the son of the late Alice (Burns) and Walter Baumgarth.
He is survived by his wife: Bennie (Tabor) Baumgarth; four children: Lynn (Joel) Hyatt of Cedar Hill, Brad (Michelle Bailey) Baumgarth of Cedar Hill, Steve (Nikki) Hunt of Stuart, Fla., and Michele Stevenson of Cedar Hill; 12 grandchildren: Dustin, Jessalyn (Bryan), Drake, Laney, Brady, Eli, Bryan, Jenna (Garrett), Morgan, Onna, Madi and Ben; five great-grandchildren: Isabella, Sophia, Lincoln, Joshua and Kinsley; two siblings: Walter (Barb) Baumgarth of Vichy and Charles (Shirley) Phillips of St. Louis; four sisters-in-law: Hazel (Dale) Easky of St. Clair, Elda Phelps of Mountain View, Bobby Jo Tabor of Mountain View and Shirley Tabor of Summersville; and many other family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
