Birmingham, Ronald

Ronald Wayne Birmingham, 71, of Mineral Point, formerly of Cedar Hill, died Oct. 9, 2017. Mr. Birmingham was a retired airline mechanic, having worked for Ozark, TWA and American Airlines, and was a member of Lifechurch in Fenton. He was a graduate of Northwest High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. An outstanding musician, he enjoyed playing and singing at his church and will be remembered for his family jam sessions. Born Sept. 9, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of Norma (Kitson) Birmingham of Cedar Hill and the late Peter Birmingham.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Brenda Birmingham of Mineral Point; a son: Dale (Natalie) Birmingham of St. Louis; two sisters: Joyce “Joy” Dunnegan and Judy (Don) Caputa, both of Cedar Hill; four grandchildren: Austin Glen Birmingham, Kara Ann Frey, Brendan Vuichard and Sebastian Birmingham; a son-in-law, Lonnie Frey; and many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Vicki Elaine Frey; and a brother-in-law: John Dunnegan.

A funeral service was held Oct. 13 at the DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, officiated by Pastor Josh Shelton and Pastor Vernon Shackelford. Burial was in the Birmingham-Frey Cemetery in Mineral Point. Arrangements were under the direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
