Ronald G. Herrell, 87, of Imperial died April 29, 2020, at his home. Mr. Herrell was a retired supervisor of 42 years with Union Electric and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a charter member of the Pastime Club in Imperial and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was born March 30, 1933, in Kimmswick, the son of the late Amelia C. (Ehler) and John C. Herrell.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn “Dee Dee” (Kennedy) Herrell; three daughters: Susan (Mark) Waterkotte of Arnold, Barbara (Jim) Dostal of Imperial and Jan (Jim) Fischer of Crystal City; a son: Ronald S. Herrell of Hollywood, Fla.; a sister: Fern (the late Ron) Bone of Herculaneum; three brothers: Tom (Adelaide) Herrell of Imperial, Joseph (the late Kathy) Herrell of Imperial and Gene (Patti) Herrell of Union; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Rebecca) Waterkotte, Ryan (Lena) Waterkotte, Sarah (Joe) Cook, Katie (Matthew) Krutzsch, Elizabeth (Bobby) Chrisco, Gabriel (Amy) Murr and Jonathan Murr; and 17 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Hannah, Chloe, Chase, Ryland, Leland, Charli, Neelah, Nash, Maggie, Cole, Claire, Jack, Charlotte, Lyla, Vivian and Drake.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Robert P. “Tuffy” (the late Eileen) Herrell, Vernon Herrell, Melvin Herrell, Norvel (the late Dorothy) Herrell, and Warren (Geraldine “Gee Gee” survives of Sulphur Springs) Herrell.
A memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church will be celebrated at a later date. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
