Roger Duane Thompson, 81, of Arnold died April 14, 2019, at his home. Mr. Thompson worked as a foreman with the Parkway School District and was a member of the Carpenters Union. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge and was active in church and Sunday school, and loved gardening, crossword puzzles and watching football and baseball. He was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Chicago, the son of the late Ames Burl and Elsie Marie (Webb) Thompson.
He is survived by his wife: Rosemary (Rickard) Thompson; a daughter: Amy Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Lavona Aivaliotis.
Visitation is at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at First Baptist Church of Arnold, officiated by Pastor Kenny Qualls. Burial with full honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge.
