Robert Loyd “Bob” Edgar, 86, of Imperial died March 23, 2017. Mr. Edgar was a master builder and carpenter whose talented hands helped construct some of the most memorable buildings in the St. Louis area. He was a proud and dedicated veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Born July 11, 1930, in Elvins, he was the son of the late Dewell Earnest and Ella Gertrude (Davis) Edgar.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Georgia Reid of Imperial; two daughters: Melissa Ann (Terry) Adams of Arnold and Tamara Lea (Scott) Tolley of Wellington, Fla.; a sister: Janet Marie Brown; five grandchildren: Justin (Lisa) Elders of Arnold, Brian (Stephanie) Elders of Farmington, and Austin Tolley, Dylan Tolley and Hannah Tolley, all of Wellington, Fla; two great-grandchildren: Owen Elders of Arnold and Peyton Elders of Farmington; 15 nieces and nephews; and his former wife and the mother of his children: Shirley Ann Howlett.
He was preceded in death by a son: Randall Dean Edgar; a sister: Betty Ruth Crowder; and four brothers: Norman Lee, James Earnest, Carl Francis and Earl Stanley.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for noon Saturday, April 1, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
