Robert Louis Frank Burg, 78, of Hazelwood died Sept. 15, 2019, at Cape Albion Nursing Center in Valley Park. Mr. Burg had been a police officer for 43 years with the Kirkwood Municipal Police Department and was the 1990 recipient of the Medal of Valor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Arlington United Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing, jogging and running.
He is survived by his wife: Marjorie (Couch) Banks; two daughters: Kathy Burg of Pevely and Trina McCabe of Pevely; two sisters: Kathleen Butler of Festus and Suzanne Hovis of Festus; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Richard, Ronald and Edward Burg.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Lari Grubbs. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
