Duvall, Robert

Robert Lee Duvall Sr., 91, of Festus died Jan. 18, 2019, at Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum. Mr. Duvall was a chemical worker, retired from the former ABB plant in Hematite, and a member of Our Lady Church in Festus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army as an honor guard for the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in Frankfort, Germany, and a member of VFW Post 3777. Born Sept. 5, 1927, in Lithium, he was the son of the late Evelyn Clara (Schulte) and Robert I. Duvall.

He is survived by his wife: Lahoma G. (Barron) Duvall; a son: Robert L. Duvall Jr. of Festus; three daughters: Shirley Miller of Tampa, Fla., Catherine (Dan) Ash of Hillsboro and Bridget (Alton) Montgomery of Festus; three brothers: Don (the late Dorothy) Duvall of Perryville, Tom (the late Ann) Duvall of Perryville and Bill (Kathy) Duvall of Tampa; eight grandchildren: Tina (Johnnie) Carter, Nancy (Kenny) Oakleaf, Melissa Miller, Jordan Duvall, Danny (Stephanie) Ash, Jeremy (Brandi) Duvall, Ryan (Stephanie) Hogenmiller and Robin Hogenmiller; 10 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Debbie Duvall; a son: Dannie Duvall; and a brother: Francis Ray (the late Barb) Duvall.

Mr. Duvall chose to donate his body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Our Lady Church, 1550 Saint Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Church in Festus.
