Robert Eugene “Gene” Dollar, 87, of Ste. Genevieve died Jan. 4, 2023, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. Mr. Dollar was a retired industrial broker. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Born April 25, 1935, in Festus, he was the son of the late Celeste (Vinyard) and Robert “Buck” Dollar.
He is survived by two daughters: Donna (Joe Uding) Smith of Ste. Genevieve and Vikkie Brown of Indiana; a sister: Glenda Dollar of Festus; a brother: Jerry Dollar of Festus; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandy Day Dollar; and two brothers: Jack (the late Marlene) Dollar and Norville (the late Brenda) Dollar.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
