Robert E. Johnson, 76, of De Soto died March 9, 2022. Mr. Johnson was a member of Teamsters Local 600 and a longtime employee of Consolidated Freightways. A U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved being outdoors and watching nature. Born Aug. 17, 1945, in St. Louis, the son of the late James and Bertha (Prince) Johnson. He graduated from Central High School in St. Louis in 1964 and married Marion E. Davis on Aug. 26, 1966, in Belleville, Ill.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Marion E. (Davis) Johnson of De Soto; two daughters: Chantel (Barry) Reda of Tampa, Fla., and Jennifer (Tom) Brewster of St. Charles; three grandchildren: Haley Reda, Ethan Herr and Hannah Reda; a great-grandson: Easton Herr; and three sisters: Dorothy Bryant, Doris Boyer and Inez Masters.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Jean Maak, Marylou Umrath and Helen Klinder; and two brothers: Gerald and Larry Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
