Meyer, Robert

Robert Charles “Bob” Meyer, 55, of Arnold died April 8, 2021. Mr. Meyer worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as a graphic art designer and was an award-winning volunteer with Heat Up St Louis. After graduating from Fox High School in 1984, Bob studied at the Memphis College of Arts, where he met his lifelong friend, Laura Molnar. He loved the great outdoors, visiting the family Christmas Tree Farm, traveling the world, hiking and spending time with friends and family. A die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, he attended many games, and never hesitated to tag along with his nieces and nephew to sporting or school events. He often drove in for the weekend just to do whatever the kids wanted, and always joined in on the yearly road trips, making memories all across the United States. He was born Nov. 18, 1965, the son of Edward Meyer Sr. of Springfield, formerly of Arnold, and the late Joan Meyer.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two siblings: Joan (Gary) McLarry of Springfield and Edward (Michele) Meyer Jr. of St. Croix; two nieces: Lauren (Gavin) Taylor of Ozark and Erin McLarry of Springfield; a nephew: Benjamin McLarry of Springfield; and two great-nephews: Corbin and Caden Taylor.

A memorial Mass at St. David Catholic Church and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association.
