Robert “Bob” Hileman, 82, of De Soto died Feb. 29, 2020, at his home. Mr. Hileman was a self–employed carpenter and owned the Southend Tavern in De Soto. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, gardening and spending time with family. Born Aug. 11, 1937, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Jonathan Clarence and Jennie (Rupkey) Hileman.
He is survived by his best friend and companion of 27 years: Geraldine Valentine of De Soto; a son: Richard Hileman of Cadet; a daughter: LaDonna (Jeffrey) Sweet of Festus; two brothers: Kenneth Hileman of Rienzi, Miss., and Michael Hileman of Fredericktown; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Robert Hileman and Timothy Hileman; a brother: Clarence Hileman; and two sisters: Bonnie May Morgan and Wanda Senter.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oakland Mammoth Baptist Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1972 Innerbelt Business Center Dr., St. Louis, 63114.
