Rita Marie Sapper-Gerths, 73, of Herculaneum died Aug. 16, 2021. Mrs. Gerths was a caregiver who enjoyed music, bingo, spending time with her family and attending church. She was a member of the Quad Cities Senior Center in Crystal City. Born Nov. 7, 1947, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Jean (Bridges) and Fred Sapper.
She is survived by a son: Danny Lee Sapper of Arnold; three daughters: Ellen Sapper of Cuba, Donna Sapper of De Soto and Jeannie (Eric Coleman) Sapper of De Soto; eight grandsons: Christopher, Michael, Eric, Zack, Jacob, Daniel, Kaden and Cody; two granddaughters: Ashley and Heather; two brothers: Joseph Sapper of De Soto and Greg (Kathy) Sapper of De Soto; and two sisters: Joy Thurston of Farmington and Becky Sapper of Warrenton.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Bobby Sapper-Crews; a sister: Reta Ellen Sapper; and a brother-in-law: Harold Thurston.
