Crabdree, Rickey

Rickey Wayne “Rick” Crabdree, 76, of Imperial, formerly of Doe Run, died Aug. 18, 2021, at his home. Mr. Crabdree attended Doe Run schools, graduating in 1963, and served three years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1968, he worked in construction, having gotten his Labor Post 110 union card at the age of 16. He worked as a general supervisor for Asphaltic Concrete Corporation and retired from Fred Weber Construction after 50 years in the asphalt industry. He was the owner of Crabby’s Stump Removal Service. He was a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite in St. Louis. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Born April 2, 1945, in Ironton, he was the son of the late Alvin Farrell and Stella Louise (LaComb) Crabdree.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Victoria (Weier) Crabdree; a son: Rickey (Terri) Crabdree Jr.; a brother: Reggie (Linda) Crabdree; two sisters: Donna (Tim) Holthaus and Diane (Jim) Slough; a granddaughter: Sarah Blum; his mother-in-law: Jacqueline Weier; two sisters-in-law: Debby (Steve) Moyer and Linda (Bob) Bonnarens; a brother-in-law: Conrad Weier; and eight nieces and nephews: Bryan Crabdree, Stella Crabdree Hubbard, Terry Crabdree, Chrissy Crabdree Wilson, Cary Holthaus Honerkamp, Ashley Holthaus Midget, April Bonnarens Smith and Bobby Bonnarens.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Terry Crabdree; a sister: Carol Hassell; his father-in-law: Conrad Weier; and a grandson: Jacob Blum.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Cozean Memorial Chapel, 217 W Columbia St., in Farmington. Visitation is from 7 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Fred Killian. Burial with military honors is in the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
