Richard J. Mesey Sr., 91, of south St. Louis County died Dec. 29, 2017, at Delmar Gardens South Nursing Home. Mr. Mesey was retired from Monsanto. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific. He was born March 17, 1926, in St. Louis, the son of the late Frank and Edna (Dunn) Mesey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Angeline Esther (Krus) Mesey.
He is survived by four children: Jean Boyer of Imperial, James (Cheryl) Mesey of St. Louis, Rooney (Lynne) Mesey of High Ridge and Michael (Dawn) Mesey of Imperial; and eight grandchildren: Lisa Boyer, Richie Mesey, Danny Mesey, Brian Mesey, Nicki Scott, Mandi Mesey, Addison Bracher and Olivia Bracher.
He was preceded in death by three sons: Richard Mesey Jr., Robert Mesey and Alan Mesey; and six siblings: Frank (Opal) Mesey, Beulah (Bill) Reagan, Harold Mesey, Robert Mesey, Roy (Rose survives) Mesey and Gerald Mesey.
A funeral service was held at Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
