Richard Frank Kotva, 89, of High Ridge died May 5, 2020, in Fenton. Mr. Kotva was a retired member of Teamsters Union Local 600. He served in the U.S. Army’s 180th Airborne Combat Team as a paratrooper, rifleman and assistant chaplain. He was a member of the High Ridge VFW and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in High Ridge. He was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Edwardsville, Ill., the son of the late Marie (Ohmohundro) and Frank Rudolph Kotva.
He is survived by three children: Richard Jr. (Rhonda) Kotva, James (Susan) Kotva and Craig J. Kotva; six grandchildren: Rachell (Beau) Mitchell and Rebecca, Renee, Richard III, James II and Morgan Katva; and five great-grandchildren: Vera, Ruby and Grant Mitchell, Sophie Brown and Kyson Kotva; and his former wife of 34 years: Elizabeth Ann (Ruby) Schuh.
Funeral services were held May 9 at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton. Burial was at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
