Kraemer, Richard

Richard E. Kraemer, 82, of Hillsboro died Dec. 16, 2020, in Festus. Mr. Kraemer was a U.A.W. member, retired from General Motors, and drove a school bus for the Hillsboro R-3 and Rockwood school districts. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in High Ridge. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat, Kirby. Born Jan. 7, 1938, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Henry and Alma (Steinmeyer) Kraemer.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley J. (Davis) Kraemer of Hillsboro; two daughters: Kecia (Greg) Jones of Hillsboro and Kamala Schroeder of St. Louis; a son: Kipp (Michele) Kraemer of Fenton; nine grandchildren: Gregory, Fallon, Nathan, Bryce, Kyler, Trayton, Rory, Van and Karch; seven great-grandchildren: Gregory, Grace, Piper, Violet, Chace, Devon and Brooklyn; friends and neighbors Lester and Terry; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Vernon, Leroy and Kenneth Kraemer; and two sisters: Esther Guccioni and Ruth Black.

Funeral services and burial were private. Memorials may be made to Canterbury Enterprises Inc., or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
