Richard Allen Agers, 73, of Lufkin, Texas, formerly of De Soto, died Jan. 31, 2021. Mr. Agers had a 30-year career as an electrician with Georgia Pacific. After retirement, he taught basic electrical at Angelina College in Lufkin. Born Feb. 4, 1947, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Ruth M. Agers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Agers.
He is survived by two daughters: Shelby (Michael) Dias and Jennifer (Dwayne) Whittlesey; two sons: Richard and Justin Agers; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Carol (Ed) Skrabacz of Pevely, Susie (Lee) Johnston of Bonne Terre and Mary Beth Agers of Fenton.
A memorial service was held Feb. 6 in Lufkin, Texas. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
