Raymond J. Reed Sr., 89, Hillsboro

Raymond J. Reed Sr., 89, of Hillsboro died Jan. 24, 2022, in Hillsboro. Mr. Reed served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a prison guard, and he was a member of the American Legion. Born Aug. 9, 1932, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Rohlman) Reed.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Ann (Zurbriggen) Reed of Hillsboro; five children: Daniel Reed of Sun City West, Ariz., Donna (Pete) Klaus of Farmington, Deborah (Richard) Johnson of St. Louis, Raymond Reed Jr. of Hillsboro and Michael (Susanne) Reed of Festus; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 1) At Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 2) at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Homes.
