Raymond A. Johnston, 80, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of De Soto, died Oct. 5, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Johnston was a retired carman-welder for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. Born Feb. 1, 1942, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Myrtle F. (Freeman) and Roy A. Johnston.
He was preceded in death by two wives: Hester L. (McKeen) Johnston and Maxine (Govero) Johnston.
He is survived by two sons: Michael R. Johnston of Poplar Bluff and Jeffrey A. (Stacey Granger) Johnston of Gouldsboro, Pa.; and a granddaughter: Mikayla Johnston.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Stephanie Johnston; a sister: Betty J. Gideon; and three brothers: Walter, Howard and Glenn Johnston.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
