Randy L. Thomas Sr., 61, of Jefferson County died March 3, 2020, in St. Louis. Mr. Thomas was a flexographic pressman. He was a Christian. He enjoyed going to the Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, Ill., and the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs, Ark. He liked shopping trips to the Buchheit store and stopping to eat at Steak ‘n Shake. He also enjoyed keeping up with current TV shows and watching holiday shows on TV. He liked keeping his bird feeders full and spending time with his dog, EmmaLou. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for being the life of the party and singing his rendition of “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.”
Born Dec. 18, 1958, in St. Louis, he was the son of Shirley (Black) Thomas of St. Louis and the late Ira Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Deborah (Sanders) Thomas; four children: Jessica Dawson (Jason) Denbow of Imperial, Julie (Keith) Hardin of Imperial, Jamie (Brian) Wille of Hillsboro and Randy Thomas of Imperial; three siblings: Sharon Fleis of Barnhart, Sheila Vogler of St. Louis and Ernie Thomas of Cedar Hill; and eight grandchildren: Kately “Monkey Butt,” Christian “Little Man,” Haley, Ariel, Noah “No-Man,” Ellie “EllieBellz,” Brayden “Beamer,” and McKinley “Kin-Kin.”
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Vordtriede. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
