Philip R. Anderson Jr., 79, of Hillsboro died March 4, 2019. Mr. Anderson was a Vietnam War veteran, and he was very involved in the High Ridge VFW. He loved reading and was known for socializing. Born July 23, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Philip and Helen (Oconnell) Anderson Sr.
He is survived by four children: Philip R. (Carrie) Anderson III, Debbie (Denny) Loeffelman, Raymond (Debbie) Dornseif and Richard (Jennifer) Dornseif; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two siblings: Ruth (John) McCormick and Tina (Don) Kracke; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, 2900 Sheridan Road, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to the High Ridge VFW, 2220 Gravois Road B, High Ridge, 63049 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
