Penny L. Crumpton, 69, of De Soto died March 14, 2022, in De Soto. Mrs. Crumpton was a manager with the Jefferson County Division of Family Services in Hillsboro. She was born April 10, 1952, in Lemay, the daughter of the late Ezra Inman “Chick” and Muriel (Cochran) DeMent.
She is survived by her husband: Boyd Douglas “Doug” Crumpton of De Soto; three children: Jennifer Crumpton of De Soto, Seth (Beth) Crumpton of Richwoods and Josh Crumpton of St. Louis; two siblings: Tim (Martha) DeMent of Festus and Sue (Pat) McGuire of De Soto; and five grandchildren: Damion, Breanna, Trent, Martin and Isabella “Bella.” She was preceded in death by a brother: Ricky DeMent
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 5 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Mark Ferrell. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
