Paula Y. Griffin, 75, of High Ridge died Feb. 23, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Griffin loved reading, embroidery, gardening and especially her grandchildren. Born Sept. 15, 1942, in Cullman, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James and Maybelle (Johnson) Hamner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Griffin.
She is survived by two children: James “Jim” (Denise) Griffin of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Kerry (Randy) Kraus of Palmyra; four grandchildren: Ryan, Elizabeth, Chelsea and Weston; four siblings: Don Hamner of Birmingham, Ala., Dita Rivero of Collinsville, Ill., Judith Black of Birmingham, Ala., and Rebecca Callis of Lexington, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; devoted neighbors Tanya and Steve Warren, Barbara Montano, Jeff Pennington and Bill Dunnivant; and her special dog, Scamper.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Carolita Deter.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will take place at 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 2, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Turner Syndrome Support, P.O.
