Paul R. Simmons, 82, of Cedar Hill died Dec. 19, 2017, in Cedar Hill. Mr. Simmons was an assembly line worker for General Motors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Born Sept. 9, 1935, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late John T. and Ethel (Montgomery) Simmons.
He is survived by his wife: Betty (Remshardt) Simmons; two sons: Jerry Simmons of Austin, Texas, and Paul Simmons of Affton; a daughter: Jane Jones of Okeechobee, Fla.; a brother: John Simmons of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Paul III, Jackson, Nicole, Johnson, Jacob, Andrew and Melissa; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, siblings-in-law, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
